It's part of our "people helping people" philosophy. We return earnings to you in the form of lower loan rates, higher interest on deposits and lower fees. No matter your age or economic standing, we support our members during good times and bad, listening to help you reach your financial goals.

Ownership

When you join TLC, you become an owner. Every member has equal ownership and a vote to guide TLC's direction.

Not-for-Profit

We're here to serve our members, not to make a profit. We return earnings to you in the form of lower loan rates, higher interest on deposits and lower fees. We support our members through thick and thin.

Membership Eligibility

It's so simple. If you live, work or attend school in Lenawee, Monroe, Jackson, Hillsdale or Washtenaw counties, you are eligible to join TLC. Immediate family of current TLC members can also join. And don’t forget, “Once a member, always a member."

Volunteer Boards

TLC is governed by a board of directors. Its volunteer members are elected by and come from the credit union’s membership, serving without pay.

Taxation

TLC pays payroll taxes, sales taxes and property taxes. Credit unions are exempt from the Single Business Tax (SBT).

We've come a long way...

Back in 1956, employees of the Tecumseh Products Company created the credit union and gave us our first name: Tecumseh Products Employees Credit Union. Our office was in the lunchroom with the late Beth Brown as the only credit union staff member.

The credit union quickly grew to serve all Tecumseh residents and then all of Lenawee County, thus becoming TLC Community Credit Union (TLC = Tecumseh - Lenawee County). With additional growth, we now serve the Michigan counties of Lenawee, Monroe, Hillsdale, Jackson and Washtenaw.

TLC has seven locations, is serving 50,000+ members, and is listed in the top 200 healthiest credit unions in the nation. We're full-service, offering the financial solutions members need to succeed.
