Educate Yourself About Avoiding Fraud

Unfortunately, we live in a world where we all have to stay alert and do all we can to keep our financial information safe from those who want to steal it from you. This page is designed to give you tips and resources so you don't fall victim to a fraud scam.

What you can do:	What TLC does:
Don't give your information out to anyone you do not know Don't give your information out over the phone unless you initiated the call (TLC will never contact you asking you to verify your credentials) Always use caution and be leery of people that contact you offering something that is too good to be true Keep yourself educated on what scams are out there and how you can avoid them Monitor your credit - Check your credit at annualcreditreport.com and receive an annual report once a year from each of the three credit bureaus Shred old documents Block robocalls Never pay a bill with a gift card Upgrade your devices Know what to do if you think you may be a victim of fraud	Provides security features like multifactor authentication and high levels of encryption methods. Sends information periodically when a scam is hitting our area. This is sent to your email address on file with us. It is important that you keep that up-to-date. We educate our staff on ways criminals have been able to gain private information so that we can recognize when things aren't right for our members so we are able to warn members on how to avoid the scam. Invests in hardware and software to assisting in detecting fraudulent activity. Keeps systems up-to-date in the to help ensure member data is safe - both by what is used by the staff and what is available to members.
